Black screen on ETstartup [SOLVED]

hi AnonymouscF,

I bought myself a new gfx card (ASUS EAH5570 - chipset ati radeon hd 5500)
Since this card has been installed my ET is acting weird (only when not connected to a server though).
I startup, get the first console. screen turns black, the intro wants to start playing but crashes or smth and then my screen turns black. If I ctrl alt del, it comes up and says enemy territory is activated... When I copy an ip(pw) and just (blindly) open console and ctrl v it connects to the server.. ATM i'm on the server I get my screen back... This is quite annoying.. anyone had same problem???

Heavily modded GTX 275 > HD 5850. I can overclock to almost double :)

Denke ja. Hab die so für einen meiner Sessel getauscht, der nur im Weg rumstand. :)

Ah, soz, I just thought so beacuse of the german link you sent earlier ;) To be honest at the current point I am not too much into hardware because my computer has been working fine for a few years already with some deals I made similar to that one ;)

yeah but for the games I use, it works perfectly on highest graphics etc.. when it's nessecary I'll maybe start modding it

someone i know had somewhat the same problem before, only with a white screen.

deleting the intro movie fixed it for him.

Nope, deleted intro movie.. No crashing intro anymore.. still black screen though

do you use slac? cause it skips the intro and goes directly to etpro or just write +set fs_game etpro @ properties.

I use SLAC yes, but when i connect through etpro slac (or at least my ET crashes)

do you use 8x AA Edge detect in the driver? when i use it my screen turns black too in ET.

the black screen ingame is called speclock, press L and join a team
