How do you guys make minecraft buildings out of pics?

im downloading photoshop, gonna mess around with 8 bit shit

he doesnt know which effets to usw in PS to make a normal picture into 8bit (so that he can count the blocks...).
i cant help him tho cauz i build stuff, i dont count =)

Find a suitable picture of old crap (not much higher than 25 pixels), load it up in Photoshop, start counting pixels and ALT + TAB until your fingers fall off.

how about simply resize the windows and fit em next to each other so you dont have to alt tab?

I'd still need to ALT + TAB to select the row I'm currently working on (or count pixels by selecting them), so not much difference there.

Like I said, I need to select shit in Photoshop so I can count stuff and keep track of where I'm at. Just having the window open isn't enough.

nah u use photoshop what i meant was count those pixels and bring them into the game by hand not by photoshop

Yeah, you have to do it manually. There's no copy/pasting as far as I know (and it wouldn't be fun either).

Yeah, disable Resampling while resizing your image, but it's really hard to find something that still looks good when you resize it to 30 pixels height. The smiley is actually 50 x 50 pixels, but it's better to do vertical pixel art.
