In the creative mode, it's just building crap out of crapboxes.
The survival mode, which is the main aspect of the game, and also the aspect these tards don't play (probably because you have to pay 10e for it) is about, well, surviving. It's quite different from the creative one, you only get the blocks into your inventory by mining them out from the world or crafting them out of gathered materials, and there's a limited number of them. There also are all sorts of fancy things, like minecarts (kinda like trains if you don't know what a minecart is), doors, traps and mechanics that make it possible to even build computers, turrets and whatever.
There are also enemies, a fucking huge (almost infinite really, it's like 9 times the surface of the earth or something) random generated world with natural caverns, mountains etc. There's also a multiplayer for the survival mode, but I think it's still somewhat buggy - most of the bugs ought to be fixed in the next update, which will come on 30th of October, and will add all sorts of other fancy things, too, such as another dimension (kind of) :P
When I was younger, I remember having days of bother setting up a server to play lego, it took me hours of my time, I helped people on IRC to connect, posted help topics on CF, all just so I could build things.
If only you could create ET maps using a similar tool/game. I guess they'd all end up looking like first phase Adlernest (indoors) though, but still take the same amount of time you've invested here...
