Journals
Ok! So here we go: In Belgium we have some sort of limit on your internetuse, aka datelimit. It's not the same for everyone though!
Some people can use 15 GB/month, me for example can only use 10GB/month and I know some lucky people who can even spend 30 GB/month...
The lucky Dutchies don't even have a limit or what so ever.
In Belgium we have 2 big providers. On the one hand TELENET, on the other hand we have BELGACOM ADSL. Telenet-users can spend 12 Giga I guess. But I have ADSL, only 10 Giga(my dad works at Belgacom, so switching over to Telenet is not an option).
Me, as ADSL-user, can spend the 10 Giga however I want to. E.g: 9 GB upload, 1GB download. Telenet-users have to do it 50-50 I guess. There are several options though. ADSL-users can also take some sort of connection where they download much faster and have 15 MB for example, but my dad doesn't want to take a bigger connection.
So now we come to the actual use of this journal. How can I make sure I up/download less?
- By changing my rate or any other settings? oO
- Any magical programs?
- ...
This datelimit is pretty annoying. When you use more then the subscribed 10 Gigabytes it resolves into a hyper_nervewrecking_internet_connection.
And: How many up-and download does ET uses?
sNoOp once told me that 1h of ET takes 500 MB or smth. But I'd like to know the exact number of MB 1h of ET would take.
Thanks in advance and have a good night!
**[[EDIT]]** : ANSWER THIS QUESTION: How many up-and download does one hour of ET uses?????????????

why is there a limit like this anyway?
And what about the rate and maxpackets?
Ofcourse you'll have to pay more, but it's that or your 10GB...
I just wanna know how many up/download ET takes :(
As for which country is better,
9Mbps / 1Mbps - no datalimit - 20 euro/month - low pings - 24/7 hotline service
greets from Poland.
greetz from holland
greetz from poland again :)
greetz from finland =)
greetz from finland =)
greetz from clix, one of the many amazing isps at portugal
Make rate + cl_maxpackets as low as the configs allow you and don't mind the whine from lamers.
If you want to measure how much data ET takes, simply download any prog like DUmeter, or netlimiter has nice stats too and you will know the exact numbers.
finally i got the answer :p
even iceland has unlimited dl
and we have to lay a fricking sealink
24.4140625 kb/s
x60 = 1464.84375 kb/minute
x60 = 87890.625 kb/hour
85.8306884765625 mb/hour
x24 = 2059.9365234375 mb/day
2.01165676116943 gb/day
10gb = 4.9710269629629718435177837381338 days playing
or 119.30464711111132424442680971521 hours
But take into account the fact that 25000 rate is the MAX you can use and you won't reach that amount unless you're on a 64man pub with lots of spam and stuff going on and you can add a day easily which means you should get something like 145hours playing time a month minimum before you hit your cap, you can probably stetch to more than 200 hours if you're not downloading big files regularly.
Lets assume you spend half your time sleeping/going out/doing stuff offline that leaves 360 spare hours in a month, if youre spending 180 hours playing a month, you're no life enough to ask your dad to get a bw upgrade from the company he works for tbh.

so with rate 25000 + 100 maxpackets the max is around 30MB/hour

btw i have limits too, but i didnt know that games count to this limit. Some time ago i played very very much and i had smaller limit but I've never crossed the limit anyways, always: 1 GB, 2 GB, the size of my in-windows downloading. So are you sure its because of ET?
you google it please :(
