So, Codemasters is holding a Lord of the Rings Online stress test for the upcoming F2P release on Monday, and slightly after that the Free to Play will become public on the normal servers.
Why I'm posting this is because the test is public to even people who haven't played the game before, and taking part in it will grant you 500 free store points in the upcoming F2P store (which is quite a bit, you can see the prices as they are in USA here and they will be likely the same for Europe too). Combining that 500 points with the free points you can get in-game by completing quests and other things you can easily get a lot content without paying a penny.

I'm quite a Tolkien fan myself and hence am quite biased about the game, but I've really enjoyed all the little details, stories and of course the story quests that follow the books' story. On top of that the world, as in graphics, looks stunning at least with graphics set to top-notch - of course there are some little problems with it (such as the horrible LOD scaling, where far-away trees for example are just 2D meshes), but they're still the greatest graphics I've seen in an MMORPG so far.
But yeah, try it out if you haven't yet. If you start a trial now it should last until the F2P is released - I know this same story was said a month ago when they were first supposed to release it, but they had some contractual problems which is why it was delayed so long. Now that they have solved those and are starting to stress test their servers it won't take long, two weeks at maximum I'd guess.
