1. That's by far not the easiest method for some people to get a lucid dream, and even if you're gonna illustrate that one, do it with the WBTB method -> alarm clock at 3 in the morning, stand up, wash your face, stay awake for 15 mins and THEN lay down to bed
2. WAY easier reality checks: Either close your nose with your fingers and try to breathe - if you dream, you will be able to breath through the closed nose, or look at your hand. You'll never have five fingers or see it clearly.
Also your "mind" trying to wake you up, after doing it for long enough, you'll gain better control of your dream and it won't happen anymore ;)
I've been actively training and having lucid dreams for about five years now and I get most of my techniques from discussions on a german board and on ld4all.com.
And you just go ahead and try to look at your hand while you're lucid. It IS true.
Hey i know this topic is dead and stuff but yesterday i had a dream and i came to the part i actually realised i was dreaming, somehow i managed to think about the finger-part thing and i could see all my fingers but they were "stuck together" (imagine like you put clue between your fingers)
but when i am in this part of my dream i'm never able of changing things in what i want or do stuff i want to do, even tho i realise its all fake, i can ofcourse say stuff to people i normally wont but i can't "change" stuff in my dream
Dont know the proper english term for it, its what you would call a "fake lucid dream" in german, so you dream that you have a lucid dream, but dont really take control. Happens often to some, rarely to others, guess youre unlucky
I don't understand how you get past the 'realizing you're in a dream' part. Everytime I reach as far as realizing I'm dreaming I get problems with breathing and wake up fucking terrified.
Well Ive always also had my trouble with the technique explained above (WILD), because its hard for me to keep my mind awake when I am in bed. Try some other techniques like MILD or DILD from ld4all.com
