It's not really about killing them, but more to avoid getting attacked by a whole swarm of those bastards. I have Sneak 85 and they still spot me two miles away.

True, but I still like how wildlife is actually dangerous in NV! Especially a pack of Deathclaws.

Just today I killed two of those bastards with my faithful companion Veronica, we were left with 1/4 bars of health left and my hunting revolver was empty AND ALLOVA SUDDEN 3 more runs down the hill and tear us to shreds.

That's nothing, I spotted a single deathclaw through my sniper scope slightly south-west of Bitter Springs (near the lake) and shot it to bits. Unfortunately there were about 9 more hiding there and I was dead pretty quick.

Exactly, once they've spotted you it's a different story. I don't mind it either, because the enemies seemed to be a lot weaker in the previous game and it's much more fun when there's still some challenge left (i.e. avoiding the groups of deathclaws and cazadores like the plague).
