lol, good luck :D
Putting it into the oven at +/- 50°C probably would help more than the freezer-idea... if you're unlucky the condensed water will cause a short circuit and will fuck the hdd completely...
lol :D no i put it in some plastic bags :D
Parent
thats not just gonna do it

have you ever here of waterdrilling?
Parent
Actually plastic bags are gonna cut it with freezer temperatures.
Parent
or you can just attach some c4 to it and blow it the fuck up.
Parent
my goal is to get back my files ...
Parent
Guess you never heard of 'baking' hardware and which positive effects this might have...
Parent
No i havnt actually.
I was like,, WTF.

Does it actually work?
Parent
it basically re-solders the fucked up solder work, but it has to be at certain temps etc
Parent
+- 50C, what the hell are you talking about :D
Parent
but mostly that only fixes it temporarily, like 2 - 3 weeks max
Parent
wtf 50C you are supposed to cool the hdd
Parent
I didn't realise.

sorry
with cold, joints contract and it drives up read heads and it mades possible to read data. Sometimes it works.

Parent
but it doesnt actually work.
you still need to get professional help.
lol
Parent
no sometimes it works (didn't work with me, but it worked with 1 friend + go google) and why the fuck you need help, you just put hdd in freezer oO
Parent
Quoteand why the fuck you need help, you just put hdd in freezer oO

:D
Parent
lol i tried that and nothing happend:(
there is no reason to do this.
this is a variation of the "put it in the oven"-myth cause some people just think it sounds dumb and cant tell the difference.
however putting it in the freezer will break it and putting it in the oven might actually work (if it broke due to water/liquids that is and only if you didnt fry it by trying to turn it on 2 often)
mhhh, it really depends on what disk he have. If it's a relatively new disk then it's not very plausible to work, but if it's a softdisk or a "sugarcoated" one then sure.
Parent
worth a shot. you might be able to recover some data. it wont fix the hdd for good ofc
