Kept a similar lineup and formation (4-4-2 wide) from my first season, where I got promoted to the Premiership (finished 2nd in Championship). Didn't turn out well, I basically got raped in every game. Those games where I scraped points, twas luck. Was bottom at Christmas. HOWEVER I struck some magic in the January transfer window:

After my first season where I had 0 budget as Liverpool, I received 4m in Han and bought smithies, Juan Muniz, and Ismail. I managed to scrap a 4th spot by the end( tottenham unstoppable WTF) I received a 24M budget, while I sold maxi, babel, kyrigoakos, aquilany, and another one can't remember
I made smithies a backup GK
I bought bale, shaqiri and Cahil
Didn't start the season yet
