Hi I play guitar too =D

if it's your first guitar get a Squier, they're fucking shit =D
nahh its my 3rd, my brother has a squier, feels strange to be honest :S

im not just starting, been playing for a couple of years now, just dont know anything about guitars :P
Parent
cool, is your price range about 150 then or can you go much higher? What music do you mostly play? that would be a good help to be honest
Parent
i would say 150-200 is around what i can spend, maybe 250 at a massive push - student life xD

i prefer indie style music, so preferably not a flying V style guitar or anything like that:D

what guitar do you have?
Parent
I have 3 guitars

I have a Cort EVL-X4 which I occasionally play for a bit of nostalgia as it was my first "proper" guitar, and I have an Ernie Ball Musicman JP 7 which I got for christmas this year, but that was about 2 and a half grand.

If you're into indie a single coil telecaster is probably your best bet.. I don't really know much about telecasters as I've never had one myself but shop around you'll surely find one. If not can't go wrong with an Ibanez, or indeed a Cort =D

ahhh i know that musicmans are one of the best

i just wanna avoid getting a shit guitar which will fall apart after 10mins tbh

this is the one you mean i guess?

i like the look of some of the Ibanezs, they seem to be not too expensive :)

yeah that guitar will get the job done! If you like the look of some of the Ibanez models, I wouldn't rule them out. You can just as easily change the pickups... alright it might not sound exactly like a tele but I'm sure you're not too fussy :p
Parent
yeahhh im not massively fussy, as long as it feels comfortable and wont break too soon, anything is fine really

i thought a good set of pickups cost more than a good guitar though?

i think the pickups on my current guitar are a tad fucked, the top E sounds really quiet through an amp :<
Parent
Nah not THAT much, depends what pickups you get I suppose. stock epiphone pickups would do the job, you'll find them somewhere cheap. Ibanez defo won't break unless you literally go out your way to damage it!

Take into consideration what strings your using as well, a good set of strings is definitely what you need for good tone
Parent
well if you want a guitar that will do extremely perfect for how much it costs id recommend Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus. I won it tho payed 500€ for it but for the money i gave i got alot more than i expected. The sound feeling and everything is amazing. body n neck are from mahagony n rose wood - which is good and the pickups are US :)

Tho still dunno if you like the les paul style. Some do some dont xD
i guess you could find some decent used ibanez or epi lp for that amount of money.. maybe.
For this price, Squier is a very good deal. Go for it :)
