razer goliathus or qck+
I've heard about the qck+ but which one would you recommend?
Parent
goliathus, have it for 6 months now cant even see its used, had to throw qck+ away after a year cause it was worn out :(
Parent
lol, i've had qck+ for like 4 years now, must be because i don't care about it being worn out
Parent
well when its full of bumps and shit its annoying to play xD
Parent
qck+ is a great pad but it doesnt work with razer abyssus and some other mice. The sensor has problems tracking up and down and wil do skip pixels to the left and to the right when drawing a straight up or down line. I only had this problem on QCK not on qpad. Works like a charm with mx518 - deathaddder and diamondback though.
Parent
and g500 :<
Parent
yeah, a lot of laser mouse have problems with black cloth pads, just like infrared and optical hate white shiny desktops :D
Parent
only solution is to release is multiple colors xD
Parent
that's more a problem of abyssus though :P
btw deathadder also got that behavior on qck, but in a way smaller variety of angles
Parent
doesnt show up in paint for deathadder on qck
Parent
it's only in specific angles around 45 degrees to any axis
Parent
not using one ! :]
nonix used a bit of desk @ lan, he cut his desk up and took it with him maaaan
Parent
Liar, liar pants on fire!
Parent
all i have is a piece of paper with some tape.. to hold it in place :)
Parent
i dno man im just v good u know
nah ill be for ever, i barely play but yet im best:pp
Parent
yeh thats him:p
Parent

GamersWear Mousepads rock imo.
It's not an edit bug, just stop using all the irrelevant markup tags in your journals.

Puretrak Talent
Parent
At first I was like gheheh then I was like gtfo.

Nothing wrong with the mouse for people that do not use a ultra low sens so quit the flame.
Parent
buy razer mantis speed, good and big !
Puretrak Talent is the best mousepad out atm
If you want a cloth mousemat, pure trak talent would be the way to go.

EDIT:
All these people saying qck+, razer goliathus, mantis speed, etc these are all basically worse versions of the pure trak talent so ignore them.
how can you actually say that ? some ppl prefer friction some ppl dont

gouda is a better cheese than cheddar
Parent
Because I own a razer mantis speed (which is the same as the goliathus or everglide titan), I'm also a good aimer and have excelled with low/mid/high sensitivity; thus I am a reliable source of information.

My pure trak talent has better durability, glide (and by glide I mean a combination of low friction and enough grip to be able to stop the mouse when needed), equivalent size and is simply all round a higher quality product.

You give an awful example, mouse mats aren't apples and oranges, essentially we're all looking for similar features. If you buy really low quality chicken breast, which is 50% water when there is nothing preventing you from buying a higher quality breast of say 20% water then why wouldn't you? I clearly stated "If you want a cloth mousemat". If a hard surface was his preference than my suggestion would not be relevant.
Parent
mantis, goliathus and titan are 3 totally different pads :P
but yeah, puretrak is better than any of them(though some might prefer titan with it's extrahigh friction/control and equal x&y glide)
Parent
Except... They're not, the razer mantis speed was a replica of the everglide titan, there's almost no difference between the two, the goliathus is the razer mantis speed repackaged. The titan/razer mantis speed/goliathus do have more friction than the puretrak talent, but they're still overall not as good of a product (they're much harder to clean, not as durable, and the feeling on a puretrak as you said is better).
Parent
well they arent MUCH different, but titan is way slower than mantis and goliathus is way slicker than mantis, all 3 got different coatings and none of them is a repackage/rebatch of any other one. saying that they all are similar is just like saying that puretrak or qck is the same as them aswell
Parent
I bought the razer mantis speed when it was first released and I remember reading it was a joint effort between everglide and razer to replicate the titan. The fact all 3 have different feelings to you is probably more to do with how long you've owned them. If all 3 were brand new I'm sure there wouldn't be much difference.

The qck is more in a category of it's own so yes it's more different to the other 3, but it's got major flaws with it losing it's feel/glide in a matter of weeks and hence a non-factor.
Parent
so all clothmats are aiming for the same glide/friction features ... dont think so

beside that it was easier to get bananas in the DDR than a puretrak mousemat in germany atm.
Parent
Puretrak talents are difficult to get a hold of sure. Obviously not ALL cloth mousemats are aiming for the same feel, but essentially yes people want the "cloth feel", friction yet not too much friction, a large size most of the time, and enough thickness to give a good feeling of glide whilst being secure on the surface it's placed.

There will be people out there who want massive amounts of friction or no friction what so ever on a cloth mousepad (practically impossible), but the rest stays true and seeing as many of the mousemats mentioned are all VERY similar (qck, goliathus, mantis speed etc) the pure trak is just the latest and best evolution of this style.
Parent
And if you want something like "AzA" then what would it be?
Parent
AzA to my knowledge has used a range of mousemats and has been good with all of them, so there's no clear answer to this. He's used a corepad (a mousemat made of reinforced glass), a razer mantis speed (a worse version of the pure trak talent), which eventually got so clawed up by his cat that it was almost unusable. He owns a Qpad which he won from a 2v2 competition with teKoa but he never really liked it and I think it was a CT, which isn't as good as the original Qpad low sens mousemats and it may have been of the thin variety, which are awful.

So to answer your question a pure trak talent would be the closest to what AzA used and definitely some hyperglides.
Parent
Thanks a lot man!
Parent
About the hyperglides, is it normal they got worn out after 2-3 months playing on the puretrak talent ? Cuz when they're new, the mouse rly goes smooth over the map without having the feeling it's somehow "glued" to it. But now it feels muuuch slower while handling it, kind of a pain in the ass :( Oh and what kind of ambigious/lefthanded mouse would go the best on the Puretrak talent ?
Parent
2-3 months seems like a short amount of time, you may however be putting a lot more pressure on the mouse than I do. Generally I find new hyperglides are too vifty, then they smooth down and become perfect in 2-3 weeks. They then stay like that for about 4-6 months. Maybe you want an overall lower friction mousemat? so something with a hard surface? but that would mean the hyperglides would last a shorter amount of time. Also try using the mouse on a hard surface when you think the glides have worn down, if they truly have worn away you'll experience high friction even on glass/metal.

As for a good ambidextrous mouse, I'm totally clueless sorry. I can't really remember the last time there was a note worthy release, since the old diamondbacks. Ermmm you may have to speak to someone who's used the newest razer mice (the ones with 5600 DPI etc) as some of those are symmetrical. (I've only ever used MX510/518/900, DB/Copperhead/Deathadder v1/2, IME3...)
Parent
Well I'm using the Abyssus right now, but I can't find any feet for it. I think I'll prolly go for the Diamondback (3g if I can't find the old one) :)
