So iam thinkin about replayin Fallout 3 b4 i head over to New Vegas.
What are must have Mods that i should consider installing , the first time i played the game was pretty vanilla + i ignored many sidequests ?
Should i go for Small Weaps and Melee weps + Lock opening again or is there are more entertaining setup ?
First special wep that i should get ? i remember i got Fisto! pretty early.

randompicture highly related.

Mods I used:
Increased enemy spawns
weapon mods
some nice weather mods
new quests
Broken Steel changes it though but the game is still really bad
do you use W7? could you update me if it worked flawless to you?
EDIT: i think you should just play New Vegas imo. i also did something similar to you, i think ive had around 10 hours of fallout 3, but in new vegas i have 50 hours so far and i still haven't done everything
there are no real relation between the two so just jump on new vegas and if you'll feel bored then try fallout 3
.. are there any good mods for vegas yet ?
64 bits?
There's only one Guns skill, so you don't need to split points any more. Energy weapons and big guns seem to be even more scarce than in the previous game, but there are definitely a lot more melee weapons (and a few pretty powerful ones). Most enemies still have guns though or other ranged attacks.
There are less hard/very hard locks and for most of the medium+ quest related locks you can still find a key anyway. I pimped it pretty hard anyway, because I tend to steal everything I can get my hands on. There aren't a lot of important terminals to hack (so far), so putting a lot of points in there is even less attractive than Fallout 3.
Few of the major difference are the scarcity of skill books, I think there are only 3 or 4 of each skill in the game (major difference to Fallout 3). You can't max out most of the skills or SPECIALs like you could in Fallout 3 (very little apparel to boost skills either), unless you get some mods. It's definitely more fun as you can't possibly try every different tactic with just one character. You will also notice that the speech challenges have changed, they took out the random chance and replaced it by prerequisites (you can only make challenge A if you have Science 50, challenge B if you have INT 7, etc.).
You can pretty much make do with the standard weapons you get in the course of the game, some of the unique variants aren't necessarily more powerful. They also can't be modded, so in some cases you will run around with the non-unique weapons anyway (sneak critical with a "weak" Varmint Rifle with a silencer and scope can get you kills on regular human opponents and smaller animals far through the game).
It's thoroughly enjoyable, but it's just a pity it still suffers from the occasional bugs and freezes like you could find in the previous games with this engine.
Fallout 3:
- Escape from Vault
- Enclave shows up
- Fathers death
- Blowing up Ravenrock
- Final battle with Liberty Prime vs Enclave (fucking epic)
- (blowing up Megaton)
Fallout NV:
- Battle of Hoover Dam (which was really lame anyway, I was waiting for huge swarms of enemies and a bloodthirsty fight)
- ?
- Seeing Marcus at Jacobstown was really nice, what a shame there wasnt a quest where you could have taken him as a companion or something
- I have to admit I enjoyed fighting the dam battle with Enclave on my side
But still I prefer Fallout NV the second best Fallout-game there is, 2 being the best.
Oh and I started a new character today, evil/neutral melee/gunner :)
I do miss the Enclave simply for the fact energy weapons and power armor bring in a lot of dough, but then again I steal and sell everything anyway and have plenty of caps already. Never been a fan of energy weapons either.
Epic stuff is nice, but there's so much more to both Fallout 3 and New Vegas that I don't really care much about that. Ghoul rocket launch makes up for a lot as well.
Yeah the rocket launch was truly nice, didnt remember it :)
I'm 50 hours in game, and while I have a lot of stuff to do( and not yet finished the game, I don't think it's possible to play 90 hours... Did u afk half the times?
I felt the same in new vegas, but I've now lost faith and kind of got bored of finding random locations, endless quests , traveling and so on...can't be bothered with the main quest now even( the fact that I have a huge list of quests to be done kind of frustrates me)
I'm going to give new vega a week rest for now
Funny fact - this is the first game to have me
Play more than 15 hours, and certainly have never played a game for so long, fallout really is a specialmgame
You should definitely try Morrowind and Oblivion though if you like these kind of games.
I was also happy that my quest log was filled, I remember exploring and was so excited when I found quests, I talked to every person in town
But now it feels empty, "uhhh a other quest"
"err which should I do now.." etc
I've played oblivion before, didn't like it at all( wasn't a huge fan of the story / environment / the whole magic stuff)
For oblivion - too old and can't be bothered playing it
I'm sure if I was really bored and have enough times, there will be new games to waste my tome
When I went to thefort to do the quest I got attacked
So I made a massrace there, but I have a hard save before and I'd like to talk to
Caesar
Do you know if I can fix that?
And I hade gannon
