Whats more important?

happiness or success?

Imagine this, your a successfull businessman with a good job and stable home but your unhappy and depressed.

Your working in a factory earning basic pay, but your really happy and love life. However you wish you could live in a nice home.

Happiness
happy. look what happens to professional athletes. they become successful but they just give up later on and start doing drugs or develop a mental disorder (addiction to drugs/alcohol, depression)
Quotestart doing drunks
xDDD

good point tho
Parent
i meant drugs xDDD

ty
Parent
yes because all professional athletes are sad and start doing drugs

beside, they would do it even if they werent professional athletes :~<

i'm talking about the ones that are depressed cause their careers runs their life. Theoren Fleury is addicted to drugs/gambling/sex/alcohol and hes one the stanley cup and a gold medal. and people think why did he become depressed :<>#
Parent
and all those famous hollywood stars who earn millions of dollars per movie are getting cought cuz of drugs etc but why if they have all

because they are ppl !!!!!!

being successful doesnt mean you will be depressed

there is no such thing successful or happy
but if you are successful you will be happy

how can you be happy if you all the time wish you could live in a nice home
Parent
you dont get what im saying. i'm saying that there are certain thigns that drive successful people to do things like that and then they ruin their lives. and if your successful you aren't always happy. yo ucould be a millionaire and have nice cars house clothes all that and still fell shitty cause you can't get a gf/wife and can't start a family cause the way you are(not all cases tho, you can be both)
Parent
and what im trying to say is that being successful in most cases will make you happy
Parent
i say 60% happy when successful 40% not happy
Parent
being successful will make you happy
except rly few cases which holywood movies seems to show alot

how the fucking having a lot of money + awesome job + everything you want you can have + it will give you awesome wife :SAD
how the fuck having all these can make you sad

FFS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happiness is overrated
You're thinking as a crow
Parent
Crows are intelligent birds, they undertsand things

And I would pick success over happiness anytime anyday. U-hu. Hell yeah.
Parent
i once took a closer look at crows
and i saw some amazing thing

one of them pick up a nut and put it on the highway for a car to smash its hard shell
after he watch where the cars drive he put the nut and a car crashed the shell and he ate it

::D:D::D:

Crows can also speak better than parrots and jump around in snow and fly... They have also highly sophisticated problem solving skills, as you've seen crows do.

Cool things, crows
Parent
Especially nuclear powered hell-crows

I'm going to stick with Socrates on this one, Happiness - everything we do in life, we do it to be happy.
or to make others happy
Parent
Happiness ofc
enjoy worshipping your pagan gods :D:D::D:D:
Parent
succes
success, more money for chicks + drugs
hoes arnt that expensive
Parent
But even with the chicks and drugs you'll still be depressed ="D?
Parent
impossible !

Happiness
example is bad, i think when you are full of happiness you don't need better home/apartment because of you're already happy with it what you got
If I succeed to a certain level in things I find important, I'll be happy.
as long as you can fool your mind, it doesn't matter wich one you choose
Happiness is something to have, but you'd be stupid not to notice various problems and faults that occur all over the world. Being successful probably means you're intelligent and get what you want, but I'd say that people that 'love life' all the time are ignorant, and ignorant is bliss, I suppose.
how comes your a not happy while being succesful?
Same as said above... you need both, but one doesn't necessitate the other. Though it depends a lot on how you're defining wealth - anyone with access to credit has a wealth. A better example is the person contemplating dropping 10k a year to pursue a career they love, as opposed to the financial stability they own.

I've lived both from running out of cash 2 days before pay day & having to 'forget' my wallet when buying petrol to working a job I love at a good wage as is atm where I can afford most of what I want. Also had time on the dole mainly just drinking with the down 'n out, those that'd given up... which was a fun but ultimately unfulfilling existence!

Personally found the worry of meeting the next bill the hardest - it leads to a certain nihilism that's hard to battle.

Having mates & someone to love is life's foundations - but you need the rest to live.
