you are also right, people fancy different things and this of course affects when subjectively speaking, just happens that I'm pretty much always speaking generally.
There's a street musician I always walk past on my way to university. She plays Mendelssohn every Friday and very badly may I add. There was a pretty good accordionist a few months back though, although haven't seen him since. He played some great Scarlatti. :D
How is this sad? When I'm at the metro I need to go somewhere and I can't stop and listen to some musician. My work or school won't appreciate me coming late.

I don't think that's something to be sad about. There is a time and place to enjoy these things, the metro station is not one of them. I'm sure if he had done it on some square or park where people have more time they would have listened.
What a totally useless experiment. There are so many street musicians, that it would take you all day to go from one place to the next if you stop to listen everytime. I usually slow down or pauze for a few if I like what I hear and sometimes give some money, but it makes sense to not linger too long.
How is that even a point of view? Call it a useless remark or habbit if you really want. The only possible 'point of view' in there is the first sentence, but it makes no sense to call that useless without arguments. This type of experiment would have been way more useful in central park e.g, because that's a leisure environment, just like the venue for his concerts. This is a badly thought-through experiment out of which they draw far-fetched conclusions that play into people's emotions. It is true however that most people wouldn't recognize a gifted musician if they heard one, perhaps that's a shame, but to me that's just an inherent characteristic of the intricate art of music.
I explained myself just now. But I stand by my opinion that calling an argument about something being pointless, pointless, makes no sense. It is without point!
it's just pointless for me to get into any conversation with you if you really meant the first sentence as it goes to show you have no clue and i'd be wasting my time.
Right, because you read my argumentation? I clearly state that the intention of the project is nullified by the poor choice of location and that I feel as if they made their experiment as to fit their conclusion. If you would have read my previous comment, it's quite obvious that I'm not saying that reflecting on things of beauty or debating about our sensitivity towards these things is useless.
Calling people down based on your hurt feelings is never a good idea. :)
you nullify everything you say regarding the subject with your first sentence, that's all. think what you write and the words might actually find meaning.
No I don't, but you obviously won't bother to understand what you read or atleast bother to read. Can't expect everyone on this site to be sensible I guess. Enjoy your day.
That doesn't imply every part of it is useless, it just states that the combination of variables makes this a lousy 'scientific' or even pseudo-scientific experiment. Where did I say the incentive was useless?
Ofcourse it has entertainment value, so as a motivational poster it's not useless at all. I was entertained and even smiled when I read it. But I still stand by my first statement, allthough it might have been abit out of place. And if you think that is a proper experiment, we are indeed done talking.

Other people just dont care about classical music in that matter.
It's the same if you put some greatest hip-hop dancer to perform near some rich-ass country club, he wont be recognized and appreciated.
I would've listened
Jack Johnson - inaudible melodies
and 35$ per hour is not that bad tbh
ps. 35$ for one of the best musicians in the WORLD of ~7 BILLION people...
And not everybody take a fancy to the same things.
full of assumptions, this is
in this town there's only a guy with an accordion who almost knows the Rosenborg(football team) song.
Have to meet deadlines, catch trains, don't really see where the problem is.

Not the selling out venues for $100 per ticket. The playing for coins in a subway part.
In a modern world the life of most musicians sadly is not a lucrative one :s
A normal nine-to-five on the other hand is out of the question for me, I don't want to be confined

The fact that people are so confined by schedules so that they are unable to surely is the sad part no?
URE MAKING ME SAD
you called the experiment totally pointless. meaning I can call your opinion totally pointless based on same arguments.
Calling people down based on your hurt feelings is never a good idea. :)
gday to you too sir.

Why so formal? HA!
