set vlc windowsize

how can i save the windowsize of vlc?
shift/ctrl+close isnt working, same for settings->video and typing e.g. 800x600 there :s

Preferences (Simple view) -> Interface -> Resize interface to video size. It's not really what I was looking for either, but it's a decent compromise.

mkay, seems as if some of my vids dont have a certain size and get opened in like supersmall..
works for etmovies though
