I think as long as your connection is fine, it doesnt matter, because the packets will be sent & received from the first time already, no need to duplicate then.

I used to have it set to 2, put it to 1 a few weeks ago, haven't noticed a difference.
as long as its about et you're right, but try q3 and then you will realize.

Even when your connection is fine? Well honestly, never tried it in Q3, but what exactly is difference? I imagine that setting it higher will give you a higher ping too, or might even create some lag, I guess its different than in ET because of antilag?

so just for the info, for quake 3 for example does putting a certain packetdup lower your lagspikes? or what packetdup is recommended for playing with just a good stable internet connection?

i have stable connection (ye right, polish one ;D) - i play with 1 but some players recommended me 2 because flux was still noticeable. however its hard to say because depends on connection, especially in games with worse netcode e.g quake + you have commands like xerpclients - what runs enemy models smoother and so on.

i guess you have to figure that out for urself.

Optic Fiber/LAN -> 0 , ADSL/VDSL/cable -> 1
It duplicates your network packets.
0 if you don't have probs, default is 1. 5 makes you unhit or something(also 2).

At least from my experience.
Changing value to 2 or 5 makes your shooting different.
