Advice Journal v1 -Edit-

Hi there,

Potter and me are forever alone-nerds and we need good games that we can play together/against eachother.

On a side note, I need some good books to read, I prefer fantasy novels but historic novels are fine as well.

Thanks in advance ;)

Grtz

Edit : Since novels dont seem to be out of order, seeing the comments, I decided to post some of my favorite series :

- The Elves ( Die Elfen ), didnt find any translation to english yet but it should be available in most languages.

- The Night Angel Trilogy, so far extroardinary good.

- The Tawny Man Trilogy, just finished this one and quality-wise it's as good as The Night Angel Trilogy.

- Rides a Dread Legion

- The Magicians ( Lev Grossman )

and for the books, Artemis Fowl or watership downs ? =P
Artemis fowl looks interesting, watership down looks a bit childish on the other hand, but after reading animal farm I try to fight against that prejudice, tnx for the advice!
Parent

De elven van bernard hennen is in nederlands=)
'The Black Magician Trilogy' and 'The Age of the Five Trilogy' by Trudi Canavan if you like fantasy novels.

'King Rat' by James Clavell or '08/15' trilogy by Hans Helmut Kirst (alltho you might find it hard to obtain) are both really awesome historical (more/less) novels. Especially 2nd one.

You can also read pretty much anything from Miroslav Žamboch or 'The Man Who Never Missed' and 'Matadora' by Steve Perry.

Dune and Ender's game are pretty nice books and are both series as well.

There's also this series that I can't quite remember right now, I can clearly remember the cover of the book but, just can't remember the name. x(

Edit: Remembered it...the first book is called Sabriel. :D
Dune? REALLY? I've read 5 out of 6 but after 2nd it was just boring and hurtful to continue -.-
Parent
Well, I read Dune, the first one but, never had time to read the rest, but I heard it was good... :D

worms reloaded! !! !!
Books: De wetten van de magie by Terry Goodkind?(there are like 9 of them, first one is the best though and a must read imo)

and play TrackMania nations forever

enjoy!
I've read his books, and re-read his closing trilogy last week and although he's able to write an interesting story, his urges to repeat EVERY-FUCKING-THING as if we're some brainless retards with no memory and his preachy attitude are fucking annoying. The end is pretty dissapoiinting too, almost like a child's tale.

The first one is relatively good, although I find book 2 and book 6 more to my liking.

PS: It's 11 books!
Parent
Yup 10 + de ongeschreven wet! I still quite enjoyed reading the books so if you're bored you can always get them.

When it comes to fantasy books, it depends what kind of fantasy you like reading. I'm more a guy that likes Epic Fantasy with at least 6-700 pages per book so that's what you can expect when I give some authors and titles.

Robert Jordan - Wheel of Time (14th and final book will appear in March 2012)
Steven Erikson - Malazan Tales of the Fallen (10th and final book will appear in ~March 2011)
G.R.R. Martin - Song of Ice and Fire (4 books at the moment, but he's been busy with the 5th volume since 2005 or something and quite a lot of fans (including me) have given up on it)

There's also Stephen King - The Dark Tower which is western science fiction meets fantasy resulting in an interesting 7 books, with highs but unfortunately also some really low points. The ending is pretty amazing though.

When it comes to historic novels, I always greatly enjoyed James Clavell (Shogun, Gai-Jin) and Edward Rutherford (Russka). If you're not aversed to teen novels, I'd also advice you to read Thea Beckman. When I was a youth I was absolutely smashed by her, I loved her books and I still do actually. Kruistocht in Spijkerbroek remains to this day one of my favourite books ever.

Edit: and Bernard Cromwell is pretty good too. I liked Azincourt a lot.

You should play Q3:CPMa, its the greatest fun if you want nerding with a friend.

Fantasy Books, some PC related:
- LOTR
- Warcraft: Deathwing (Its an older book, the next WOW expansion is about that dragon.)
- Warcraft: Lord of the Clans
btw. just search for Richard A. Knaak books, they are very good!
- Diablo (There were about 3 books I heard about and read, two or one of them was 10/10.)
- Darren Shan Vampire Series
- The Hobbit
good choices
I see how it is... Not wanting to talk to me on IRC and not wanting to play games with me either. Might start being a dick to you again ;D
Games:
Daiblo II, Quite nice if you have not played it yet, but I know you did :D
Failing to come up with more names right now, gotta wait till I am home =(
