format, 7 vs. xp

Hey I am thinking to do a full clear format. I have been using Windows XP since many many years. I have been using XP x64 for a year already or so. I heard x64 is better for Dual Core cpus so that's why.
Should I go for Win 7 or stick to XP , x86 or x64 ?

its just better for cpu intensive programs like high end emulators etc.

used xp too for years, now i've been using 7 for like 2-3 months and it owns xp.

if you manage to choose xp over 7 which is dumb, go for x86 over x64 instead.
