JavaScript in PDF

At UNI I'm currently working on a project where I will be dealing with the PDF format. I will be making a small c program where I will be able to search through my document/desktop folder where it will look for PDF files and then open them and implement some sort of JavaScript into it.

This is how most PDF viruses work, however I'm kinda now working on the PDF format itself.
Has anyone worked with it before? It's not the easiest format to write about.

If you how could you post some of your sources/links?

Would be really thankful.

Oh man. Just don't. PDF alone is the horriblest format ever, not to mention if it has Javascript implemented within it.
