So today Clanbase have "proudly" annouced the release of their new configs spanning the gametypes for 1,3,5 (erm) and 6 players, coming before the EC and NC seasons are scheduled to start. They (CB) have a "primary wish (which has) been trying to get an arrangement with other leagues but due some reasons which I do not want to talk right now it was not posible this time. Perhaps the reason that the man who is primarily responsible for this config, doneX, secretly realises he is the reason that no 'arrangements' have been made.
Now what 'arrangements' are these you may be wondering. We pick up the story immediately following the annoucement on Crossfire about the xfire configs (the ones with knockback changes, etc). A vast amount of opposition was giving to the configs and we recognised that the changes we had made were not for the benefit of the community. Add to this the fact the sheer amount of independant per-league configs and a decision was taken to work towards a global config which all the leagues and players could use and be happy with. Heavily involved in this effort was Frop, one of the most patient and helpful people you could hope to meet. Despite doneX's lasting belief that Frop is a crossfire admin, he is infact detached from CB, WL, ESL or Crossfire and so was ideally placed to front the project.
To begin with, we spoke with the various heads of the 'big three': Warleagues, Clanbase and ESL in the form of Yancho, Donex and Chosen. Both Yancho and Chosen were open to the idea which involved looking at the various leagues' configs and consilidating them into one single config which all would be happy with. Yancho and chosen recognised the negative impact of having seperate configs was having on the state of ET, namely players being forced to adapt to each competition they played in and have no consistancy at all. With WL and ESL onboard, Frop approached doneX with the same proposition. To say the idea was thrown back in his face is an understatement; once doneX heard of ESL's involvement he was very reluctant to consider the matter any further or to provide a sample of the new CB config for comparison.
Why you might ask? doneX has strong feelings of betrayal by the ESL and a great dislike of it's head ET admin, chosen, for various reasons belonging in the past. When CB annouced their switch to 5v5, the reaction of ESL to publically remain playing 6v6 was not one doneX felt happy with. The position of his league as the "premier organisation in ET" meant to doneX that any leagues refusing to switch was effectively becomming an anti-CB organisation. And the feuding with chosen? Chosen saw the unpopularity of 5v5 in the community and sought to preserve the majority preferred gametype that ET and RTCW had been playing for years. This was taken as a 'personal insult' to doneX, who has since ceased to communicate in any way shape or form with ESL.
Nevertheless, the pursuit of a global config continued, with Frop running up a comparison of the big three's configs and highlighting side-by-side the different cvars included. With a mixture of diplomacy and common-sense, ESL, WL and Crossfire were able to agree on the objective together. doneX made it clear that he wasn't "prepared to think about changing them" at all. All this in the face of trying to create unity in ET, something which hasn't always been present of late.
Some of the cvars which doneX was opposed to included helmetprotection, maxpackets, the exclusion of the MG42. In talks we have been told that issues such as helmetprotection were not important to doneX, yet in today's newspost the fact that it hasn't been changed was presented in a way that seemed pretty important to stress. Urtier, speaking on behalf of Idle.ee has praised the settings ESL use. "We've played like half a year without mg in all those xfire/esl configs. It was nice, the config was perfect with maxpackets 60 etc, nothing to complain. This is so retarded that cb goes alone again". Conan has also highlighted the inability for doneX to move for the better of the community when it comes to working with other organisations and acknowledging their success:
Whilst Frop, chosen, Yancho and myself are not trying to claim we had agreed universally on the contents of the global config, we had realised the fact that ESL's config had proved the most popular with players and that it was sensible to base our propositions around that config. WL and Xfire also saw the need to agree to a universal config, but without CB the idea is somewhat defeated. A global or universal config is one that everybody uses - for CB to ignore it and go their own way not least because of a paranoid supervisor entirely defeats the purpose of seeking stability in ET. As with 5v5, CB, or rather doneX believes that only their way is the correct way, refusing to accept that their position as the dominant force in ET is slowly being undermined.
doneX's delusional reasoning, which includes accusing various xfire admins of being ESL supporters (fusen, who no longer plays ET, loekino who isn't an admin, chosen again not an admin), the fact he beleive his Spring 6v6 configs were universal and played by everyone up until yesterday, and so on. One wonders what the voices were telling doneX the last few months. This is clearly a man who is an obstacle in the path towards progress, barring his fellow CB admins such as Adacore and Angrykid from keeping CB as the dominant force in ET that it used to command. Surely the small amount of partnership that we ask for the greater good of ET is not too much to lose a little pride over?
5v5 has already proved to be a massive flop for CB, surely doneX's decision to not cooperate this time around is only a failure waiting to happen.

if for example ESL change autoaction to CB autoaction then CB can change that helmet shit.
ESL & co cant force CB to change everything what they want and CB cant force ESL & co to everything they want so they both need to take and give a bit.
I have no idea how the conversations were between them so i cant judge who's fault it is but now alot of people are blaming CB while they dont know what was discussed and said in the conversations they had.
This is something between CB and ESL & co and it shouldnt be discussed here with collumns and stuff be a man pm eachother and dont try to put the player up against some config by making journals retarded comments or like foonr did a collumn (journal) that noone of the players can judge since they were not there.
and it isnt with 40??
"You never proposed anything to us"
Er, yes, we did. Refused everytime.
"we don't want you to make or force our settings"
Never was anything forced, only proposed.
dot to the other dot
dont worry, its ok
If you say both Loekino and Chosen are not xfire admins, you shouldn't mention them.
