What kind of company has employees packing lorries at this time of night.

Slave drivers.

You'd think with them working round the clock they could afford to spend more than 5 seconds at my door before slipping the cheeky "you were not here card" through my door.

that isn't for home deliveries, it's for depot to depot deliveries. they'll use trains and lorries to carry thousands of packages at a time 24/7 so they are close enough for the normal daytime staff to deliver on time

Oh the joys of being in halls and having someone always available in reception to sign for shit. I haven't been ropeadoped by "you were not here" since September! I fully expect to get one next week though, karma and shit.

We pretty much do get a concierge service but then again for the price we pay for being on campus here I'd be pissed if we didn't.

Haha, yours was far more expensive than mine and my room didn't get attacked by Hungarian sludge like yours did :D

Except if you don't collect your package by 5pm they'll probably shut and you'll have to wait until the next morning. It's like having a mail depot nearby, so not all that much better!

Royal mail still managed to give me the old "you were not here" even when I was in halls in first year and there was someone there 24hours a day :D

Luckily the post office was just down the road!
