put in jail.
leave there.
no more "OH LOL FREEDOM" shit when its actually just a flood of classified (illegal) and mostly useless material.
operation newfag
if the military fucks up big time its the reponsibility of journalists to say 'yeah thats worth making public'. releasing tons of classified material no matter if its relevant or not is stupid, illegal and should get you shot for severe treason.
you shouldnt be outraged by exposure of the crime, but by the crime itself. when media covered abu ghraib prisoner torture and abuse, people were critical because it served the al qaeda and talibans as a recruiting tool, which was true. but the media wasnt at fault. they were doing their job which was reporting the news. the blame lies on military for breaking the law in the first place, not on media for covering it...
its like a football player complaining for media covering his autogol fuck-up-of-the-year since covering it will make him look like a fool and decreasing his value.
people already knew or suspected a lot of the shit that is going on in the world, but its just "rumors" and politicians are enjoying deniability when confronted with such topics. thats why everyone hates wikileaks for exposing this shit.
seems like you're in favor of oppressing free speech, censoring tv and the internet. its better that you move to china or even north korea if you prefer being blinded by sweet lies rather than accepting painful truths.
i am outraged by the crime itself. i am outraged about some1 leaking classified material that does not expose any crime. i am outraged by leaking for the sole purpose of leaking.
thats a crime.
and ur argument of the repetition of something thats already public in the first place (football game) shows that u dont rly know what ur talking about or that ur just rly rly bad with metaphores.
e: for instance the video of murder of reporters from a helicopter released a while back. we would never find out about that if it wasnt for wikileaks...
last leak however was them getting over confident and jsut leaking useless shit. cause very web2.0 gimp wants to play muckraker.
the only problem with wikileaks is no transparency with wikileaks organization itself. its rumored that openleaks will be better.
and thats exactly the problem. you have a responsibility of you posses classified material (think about 'classified' material of companies. is spionage okay now? no.) to judge if you can ignore the law and make it public, if its worth it. they didnt do that thats why im saying they commited a severe crime.
you dotn seem to understand that not every material is for everyone.
cablegate contains diplomacy reports. secret deals US was making with other governments. its a question of transparency, not national security. if a government makes a deal, which if becomes public, will endanger national security, its not the whistle blowers fault they made that deal. how can you not support transparency.
ron paul also made a good point. how can wikileaks be responsible? they didnt steal the information, they published it. its called breaking a story. if wikileaks is responsible so is every newspaper and news cast since they are all reporting about information in the reports.
