peep in my headset

Hello,

Recently I bought a new pc and ever since I got it, I got a little 'peep' in my headset when there's no music or anything on... When I load a website the peep gets a little bit worse...

I tried another headset, but it has the same problem. When I put some mp3 on, it overrules the peep, but in CoD4 it sucks when I only hear this irritating sound.. :(

does anyone know what I'm talking about :D?

Any ideas?

do you happen to have "acoustic echo cancelation" on in your realtek driver? (assuming you have one)

try muting mic or line in under playback mixer
acoustic echo cancelation

where can I find it? :o
Parent
it's not a default windows feature, it was purely assuming you had a realtek audio driver

It's called tinnitus.
change the battery on your gehoorapparaat
just play ET and it works!
perhaps you need to update your soundcard to the latest driver,

gl anyway
Hello Frop! What can I do about it, I know shit about PC's :D

An easy test would be to touch the casing and see if the noise subsides.
Parent
turn off pc sound in sound panel or sth
I would say ur sound card is too close to CPU, at least it was my case some time ago. Nothing I could do about it, new soundcard solved the problem tho
thats gay :(

Ive had the same, especially when i scroll trough pages it gets worse. Never fixed it i think, usb soundcard and its gone now
me haz same, not too much tho but annoying :<
luckily you live in amsterdam so you can forget about that very fast with some national merch ;D
Parent
this is true! but sometimes it makes me notice the weird sounds more and then i get a headache :<
Parent
what does that have to do with amsterdam? weed is legal and can be bought in coffeeshops all over the country
Parent
i wasn't exchanging pleasantries with you - it means i couldn't careless about ur racy thought ¬¬

listen to music while playing
i have 2 places to put plugs in my pc to get sound, one is direct into the soundcard(using atm and no problemo) and the other one is on top of the pc, which makes aswell an annoying peeeeeep :) guess it's to close to the upperfan :(
if i would have to fix it i will first try to not use the fan, if the sound is gone, i will try some rubber(:D) to get rid of it.
If it the sound is still there, then i dunno :(
I have the same when I plug my headset in my keyboard, probably to close to other cables which disrupt the signal or something like that.
