w7 wont lemme use cfgs?

uhm windows 7 won't change the file into a cfg type and the picture is a piece of paper no the notepad.. i try and change the settings but it just wont work :( help please?]

Also when im playing ET i have my resolution and fullscreen mode set right but there is still black lines on the side of the screen. im using `15.6 laptop monitor :/

Make sure it shows known file extentions (explorer window -> folder options -> view -> uncheck "hide extentions for known file types").

Otherwise you are just edting the filename.

Or open it in notepad and save as all files and add the .cfg manually.

Save ass - Select from tree "All file types" instead of "Text documents" and name the file xxx.cfg

if ur et resolution is set to native res and still getting black bars, then hmmm...
if its set to 4:3 res and u getting those black bars, then it means ur lappy doesnt support stretching of screen.
