desire hd - cracked apps

Got my awesome HTC Desire HD and now i wonder how i can get Navigon for free on it :P

From what i heard: Download it (where from?) , copy it to sd, launch "Astro" ( file manager ) and install it.

Where to downloads apps from?

Does it work like i described?

@edit: also how much disc space does navigon use? on the iphone it was ~1GB.. so i might need to buy a 16gb microsd since i only have 5gb left on my 8gb one :S

works fine on the iphone so it has to work with DHD too ! :P

I know what you mean, just local maps. I guess it's doable with rooting your DHD and just use local maps and update those manually at home. But for GPS you need a subscription

btw did u buy the "invisibleshield" from zagg.com ? or some leather case for it? if yes, which one?

no I didn't. I find it unhandy to take it out of a leather case all the time. Mate of mine got it though, orginal htc pouch that is.

most of the navigation apps (expected google maps) works like this:

install the app itself, dl & put the cardmaterial on your sd-card (or microsd or whatever), run the app -> win!

only google maps is downloading the cardmaterial as soon as u need it.

and u dont need anything for GPS, since its hardware...

btw, an android phone doesnt need to be rooted to see the files on your memorycard. only to browse the phonefilesystem. and since navigation-maps are always on the memorycard u dont need it.

well i have seen a video of google maps which was awesome.. it also had "real-image" views.. so u didnt just see jsut a line and coloured routes.. u rly saw the real-street.. but on my phone the google navigation is more like a map with a simplte point where u are.. but no real navigation.. am i doing smth wrong? :S

Cause if its like in the video, i would just go for the google navigation + radar/blitzer-warner in the backround and i´m fine i guess :P

well, when u use google maps u need a internet connection on your phone, since it is downloading card material all the time. well, i dunno about the street-view stuff, since i dont have android anymore. but i guess u should just check if u got the newest version of google maps installed and check the settings there...

applanet will also update the apps.
just put it anyware on ur sd-card, the use a filemanager like astro filemanager, browse to it an start it.

and urms, forgot bout the navigation stuff...just check boerse.bz for navigationapps, since u need the cardmaterial for D-A-CH...

just send me a pm of u got some questions.

even when i dont use my desire anymore i know quite much bout android (also rooting, romflashing and shit)

Another quick questions :D

How big is a whole navigation with maps for europe ? (Cause i think i need a bigger SD card with 16GB rather than 8GB?).
How can i fully backup my phone (so in case i flash it but need warranty request sometime later i can just put the backup on it).
Whats a good radar/blitzer-warner app u can recommend? :)

urm well, i think 8GB should be fine for europe, the question is, if u rly need maps for europe and not only the D-A-CH maps ;)

u want to flash another ROM? well, u can get original unrooted roms from ur provider homepage. shouldnt be a big deal.

btw, the oxygen rom rocks, fucking fast and clean. but dunno if it works on the desire hd. just check xda-developers....

bro, read pls -.- ".bz" NOT ".biz" and its online!

well, when u rooted it ull have clockworkrecovery or something like that, with that u can backup it.

just read on "forum.xda-developers.com", also "android-hilfe.de" will help u.
