resolution problemzz

Since I have this new laptop I cannot play ET fullscreen anymore. Laptop resolution is 1366 x 768, but ET doesn't support that resolution in game options. This results in thick blad borders on both sides of the screen, like playing ET in a windowed way. Changing the resolution of the laptop according to the one in ET doesn't fix this. Anyone?
