English halp :o

So today, in school, we had a sentence.
It was: "I don't drink 'water enough' / 'enough water'."
We had to choose which one is the good, and my teacher said that 'water enough' is the good.Is it? Because for me, it sounds really weird. Halp me :(

IMHO both are correct, but mean different things.
she told me that it was a little mistake :o

i always go for the "sounds gay/doesnt sound gay-method".

in this case the first option sounds very gay. :D
same here, thats why i picked that also :D
Parent
ask any Frenchie, they know.

On a serious note, I would go for the last version as well

Parent
too good that Im no embryo anymore :)
Parent
it's the 2nd..
depends on the context. both are right, but have slightly diff meanings imo
there wasnt any context. just an exercise about where we have to put enough; before or after the adjective/verb, and ye..
Parent
think you should be looking for another english teacher:P
Small difference:

I don't drink enough water means I don't drink enough water now.
I don't drink water enough means I don't drink water often enough.
thanks.
imo you taught me more english than she did in more than 4 months
Parent
haha, teachers... :D
Parent
i was kidding ofc, cuz she taught me whats the use of 'used to'
Parent
I disagree that there is a difference to be honest
Parent
You're an Englishman, what do you know? Most Brits can't even speak their own language!
Parent
Oh really? And you are saying I can't correctly speak English?

That was 100% justified. There is not a difference, just depends how you use them to be honest -.-
Parent
Ye it depends on how you use them. Aka there's a difference!
Parent
They mean the same thing, so no difference ...
Parent
STOP ARGUING WITH ME!
Parent
Sorry Krosan ? :D
Parent
They mean the same thing, but in my experience are used in different situations / sentence structures.
Parent
I don't drink enough water. I don't drink water enough. Both are correct, just depends how and where they are being used...
Both are correct. 'I don't drink enough water' would be the phrase used most often. I never say 'i dont drink water enough' but its still correct :>.

Btw i think you should be looking for another English teacher or change schools. If your teacher thinks that 'i don't drink enough water' is the wrong one then everything your being taught is likely to be wrong.
