i don't like him...everything he produces sells millions, but he's the only acclaimed rapper i don't appreciate

Them* ;) Shook ones pt 1,2 obviously, G.O.D., Drop a Gem on 'Em + a couple others from the Hell on Earth album and the Infamous. They also have a couple of good songs that aren't from the 90's like for instance Put 'Em in Their Place.

But I am not a hardcore fan, I just like a couple of their songs ;)

nor am i! as long as you appreciate the background where a rapper is coming from (biggie having to sell crack to make money for his daughter - tupac getting shot 5 times and surviving, his mother delivering a crackbaby - eminem getting bullied 'n so on)

and even if you don't, there is something within the genre (it's incredibly diverse and expansive) which does relate to your life

it's just, to be a successful rapper, you need an interesting story that people want to hear
