Very sad news today morning, Hungary and Real Madrid legend Ferenc Puskas has died at the age of 79. He was, and will be one of the best football players of the world. ;(
- Hungary had not lose home games for 11.5 years when he played
- 83 goals in 84 games with Hungary (selected as the best striker of the Twentieth Century by Gazetta dello Sport)
- 512 goals in 528 games with Kispest Honvéd and Real Madrid (selected as the best and most famous Real Madrid player on realmadrid.com in 2002)
- From this, 49 goals in 39 European Cup (now Champions League) games.
- And in his first season he scored 50 goals
- Top scorer of the Hungarian league (4 times), top scorer of the Spanish league (4), top scorer of any European league in 1948 and top scorer of European Cup (2)
- Winner of Hungarian league (5 times), Spanish league (6), Spanish Cup (2), European Cup (3), Intercontinental Cup, Olympics and silver medal in the World Cup
- Scored twice in the legendary game in Wembley, and helped Hungary thrash England 6-3, their first defeat on home soil
- Quadra-trick in 1960 European Cup (now CL) final in 27 minutes where over 135.000 people watched Real Madrid win 7-3, nobody could beat this record yet
- Scored 3 times in 1962 European Cup (now CL) final
