Could be, i didnt really play for finstastic, just a game or two.
What does it still has to do with anything? It's online competition for a reason, u go lan if u feel like it is cool and all, i am fine with online competition, i do not need to go play to other country to enjoy gaming or to have some social aspect of gaming, i can have it all at home.
i did it on what i paid for a flight from Southampton to Amsterdam, train from Amsterdam to enschede, sleeping in a wooden shack and not drinking or eating much :p
what about dreamhack though or an event in your neighbouring countries, would you go to that IF there was one?
But there is a column about it anyway
until then its 5on5
oh wait..

Ps. How many international lan have u been?
what makes you think _none_ of these orgs would take a #1 team? Winning teams are always good for rep
on a better note what kind of sponsorship WOULD make you go to LAN? entry fees paid? travelling costs? etc... ?
Full support & mgc gets max 30% of the prizemoney
travelling costs: £150
beers: £20
food: £20
hotel: £60
train tickets: £40
entry: £50
other: £10
-----
total: £350
do this for 5 members of the team
£1750
prize for coming first
£2500
max profit from full support = £750
split 70% 30% between players and MGC = 525:225
so basically the MGC will make £250 from it
hardly worth the effort really unless they get shit loads of advertising from ET which they wouldnt
Ps. the cost is way too low with ur numbers

KRP LAN or something
you'd most likely get alot of estonian, polish and other east-european players coming :)
