Fuck off!
It's a forum, ofc you need to register...
Parent
nope
why should I need to register to simply read general discussion?
Parent
I guess you could understand they need clicks and visits on their website/forum.
Parent
so they only count clicks and visits if I am registered? :XD

QuoteI'd say more like CoD.

- No shooting while sprinting or climbing ladders or swimming
- No strafe/ramp/rocket jumping
- Recoil
- Iron sights
- No crosshairs at all
- High spread from certain weapons and not so much from others as you would expect
- Aiming improves when standing still, more when crouching, even more when prone, and even more when aiming down sights
- Very high damage from headshots (instant kill with certain weapons) and moderate damage otherwise
- Bullet velocity and power decreases with distance or when penetrating thin/soft materials
- And erm.... well I guess that's all I can say for now

and suddenly i'm back to i-dont-care-mode. : (

seriously, yesterdays news was interesting, but making it into another cod clone is just boring.
Parent
But... it's going to be released with SDK which means mods will be easily made. Unlike Brink... plus time will tell, things will change now that the guys are registered here. They will look at posts from here and take note.

Read below.
Parent
you think there will be 2 "promods"? one for the cod community, one for the rtcw/et community? :p
Parent
:P, all depends who wants to mod it. I know there will be many modders here wanting to get their hands on it. If only Bani released ETPRO code... ET would be alive right now.
Parent
So your saying etpro would still be upgraded if public would have the code?
Parent
Almost definately. I would of done some work on it, starting afresh is time consuming. When I did start modding ET I enjoyed it, but seemed pointless doing things that were already done. Having the code would 'tempt' people into modifying it and releasing their own update to the code and compiling newer versions.
Parent
If he gave the source to another coder then maybe yes. Just right now I'm thinking if it was published, there would just be more features that admins can screw up (weapon damage?!)
Parent
Possible without ETpro source code. Things like that can be scripted or altered with Visual Studio easily. I'm talking about new features, netcode, server code etc...
