simply because they have a afraid paranoid government, so they censor as much as possible...
besides that we (former nazi land, now a paradigm of western democracy) censor each little crap... why is that so? and the best is.. we're the only industrialized country with such massive restrictions close to china. every 2nd video on yt isnt watchable in ger.. great success, tho some randoms in central africa - which prefer genocides and killing each other, could watch it with ease. thats how we roll, no genocide anymore but as alternative we got censorship... (btw get the cynicism!)

Comapring germany to south africa is a very bad example since only ~ 0,1 there have a computer at all.. I wasnt saying anything about why they censor it, just that the censoring is higher in china.

die gema ist unter aufsicht vom bundeskartellamt und dem marken- und patentamt, also mithin staatlich legitimiert .. abgesehen davon ist sie eine private (inkasso?!) organisation.

aber die frage liegt doch wohl klar darin, warum gibt es derartig massive (finanzierungs-)unstimmigkeiten nur im deutschen raum wo die gema aktiv ist? sicherlich gibt es in anderen ländern auch einschränkungen - da die ihre eigene gema haben, aber komischerweise haben die bei weitem nicht das maß an uneinigkeit wie wir hier.

1. ist die gema nur durch den urheber legitimiert, der seine interessen durch die gema warnehmen lässt. also handelt es sich bei ihr um keine staatliche institution (wie zb das von dir genannte kartellamt), sondern um eine interessenverterung.
2. sie steht unter aufsicht der von dir genannten einrichtungen. mir neu, dass legitimation und aufsicht synonm sind.
3. ist die gema durch ihre legitimation seitens des urhebers auf basis des urheberrechts dazu berechtigt, ihre interessen, bzw. die ihrer mitglieder, wahrzunehmen.

so und 4.die frage ist nicht, warum es die gema in deutschland gibt. die frage, die ich dir konkret gestellt hab, ist was die gema mit staatlicher zensur zu tun hat. und dein ganzer text gibt da keinen einzigen anhaltspunkt.

solltest das nächste mal überlegen, bevor wieder der "böse staat" an allem schuld ist.

Why is it that people can't write "chilling out with a friend" or have to designate it's a girl they are hanging out with on crossfire.
