Luis Suarez has made a personal plea to Ajax boss Frank de Boer in an attempt to force through his proposed £20million-plus move to Anfield.

The Uruguay striker is caught in the middle of a protracted battle between Ajax and Liverpool after emerging as Kenny Dalglish's top target to take some of the goalscoring burden off Fernando Torres.

Though Ajax are ready to lower their asking price from £25m to nearer £20m, they have been angered by an opening offer of barely half their initial demand.

Well Chelsea wanted him for 35 mil, but Liverpool have turned it down. However, Torres' agent has told Liverpool to think about any incoming offers so he clearly wants to move to a bigger club who are capable of winning things, something the current Liverpool team will never do.

Chelsea are an ageing squad at best, and will definitely not be able to compete with teams like Man City. They have failed to bring in anyone in this transfer window, so their glory-hunting fans are not pleased. Abramovich decides to perform a basic PR stunt, so he puts an Everton-like bid for the best striker in the league... Of course, the bid is rejected... Torres' agent (who works on commission, of course) decides to make a profit of this situation, and he tells the media whore Balague that his client might get interested in a possible move, without specifying the timing and the destination... LFC fans are not pleased, so NESV must act quickly and offer Torres a new, heavily improved contract.

The outcome: Abramovich gets away without spending anything in yet another transfer window, Torres' agent gets a nice commission, and LFC fans are happy because their favorite player is staying.

Edit: The 50 million buy-out clause is only for none English teams btw.

Torres has said he will leave if the new owners do not invest in the squad and that he is prepared to talk to Chelsea if no investment is made. Chelsea made an offer of £35 Million which was rejected. He has a buyout clause of £50 million. So 50 or GTFO.

I doubt that he will move, Liverpool just don't have that kind of money and they still have huge debts( even if the new owner might have stablized situation). Only thing is that if they offer +15 and Kuit for Ajax and I doubt after that Kuit will accept their offer at the currency. Also having 10e bet that he won't move (3,60 odd)

nzz, ik zelf als scc houder van vak410 en verbonden tot ajax als trouwe supporter en die regelmatig met spelers praat en wederom training bezoek met de aanhang, kan je vertellen dat wat op internet niet helemaal waar is, dat LFC geintreseerd is in suarez dat is nu wel bekend maar dat luis zelf weg wil is geen spraken van hij wil gewoon zijn contract afmaken bij ajax kampioen worden en mocht hij eventueel vertrekken dan is het een optie naar spanje!

en btw afgelopen training loopt hij gewoon vrolijk rond een balletje te trappen en helemaal niet met de uitstraling ik wil weg, wederom gesprekken met luis en supporters zegt ie zelf ik blijf ...

Ik heb zelf ook een seizoenskaart. En weet zeker als er een bedrag komt wat voor Ajax is leuk, en voor Suarez ook. Dat hij zeker wel weggaat, deze jongen klinkt als clubliefde soms. Maar als er eenmaal een club komt, dan is hij zeker snel weg. En dat jij zegt dat hij op de training vrolijk er bij loopt. Ja hij kan er zelfs moeilijk jankend er bij lopen voor de fans.
