Guitar Journal - Semi Acoustic.

Sup crossfire,

Im thinking of buying a new Semi Acoustic guitar, but since its my first semi acoustic i could use some tips.

Been to the guitar shop near my city and they had a richwood semi acoustic.

So i was thinking of buying this one but since its my first somewhat electric powered guitar i was curious if any of you guys have tips.

Nice thing about it is you dont have to play it on a amplifier so thats why i basically want to get one.

Thanks in advance!

how much you are paying for that?
well depends, he has different versions of them with price ranges from €189,- till €369,-
Parent
models will also be different then -_-
Parent
that's what i ment with versions, couldn't find the word! ;)
I believe the cutaway version i was most comfortable with was €289,-
Parent
I really wouldn't buy a cutaway guitar in that pricerange, doesn't sound nearly as good :(
Parent
well ive tested the cutaway with steel strings. sounds pretty nice in my opinion.
then again i dont have any knowledge about semi acoustics!
Parent
I realized i just shot myself in the foot, I think you should go for whatever guitar sounds best in your hands. A guitar with awesome sound that is very hard to play won't sound very good until you're like uberskilled, so go ahead and buy what works :P
Parent
not bad! how long u been playing?
ill upload some of my stuff soon! :)
Parent
well I had my first guitar 5years ago but I almost don't play anymore.. I just pick up my acoustic guitar sometimes and play some random stuff on it :p gl with your guitar carreer ;)
Parent
its more of a hobby for me tough! :) but thx!
Parent
yeah I meant carreer as in a hobby :p anyway, hf playing :) It's really fun to be able to play songs that you adore
Parent
I know, been focusing on paradise city and some own created tunes lately!
Parent
Semi Accoustic is an es 335 for example.
This is just an accoustic + pickup.
I can only tell you that you shouldn't buy any cheap shit, because it's no fun playing on those :o)
But then again, you don't want to overinvest in something that you don't know you'll continue doing :/
Parent
But if you buy a cheap and poorly made guitar you definitely won't continue playing!
Parent
ive had a ibanez acoustic wich was totally working out for me, but before that i had one of those beginner €40,- guitars.
What u say is true! ;)
Parent
I started out on a very cheap Cort guitar, and I did continue.. I have much better guitars now though!
However, when buying a first guitar, playability should be the primary concern until you're actually good enough to be able to tell that a guitar sounds good or not
Parent
But ive been playing for 3 years so falling back to a beginners guitar would be ridiculous right? :P
Parent
In that case, I guess you know what you want, right? :P
Parent
i started out on a 80 euros acoustic guitar from the local music store, unknown brand, bad build quality, a string broke a couple of hours after i had it (my friend broke it, not me...)

had the string replace and I'm still playing.
Parent
Well I only know from electric guitars :) The poor ones sound awful even if the strings are good, which may not be the case in acoustics
Parent
looks nice!

saving up to buy myself ones of these

SO nice, but also SO out of my price range :<
Brutal, Looks a bit like Fender Stratocaster, mate of me has one of those but he cant play it for shit!
Parent
its based on a telecaster, just with a slightly different body

the guitar i have is some fake version of a Stratocaster, but ideally i want the guitar above or just a normal telecaster

so hot for these

How long do you play guitar?

The longer you play, the higher you should go with the price imo...im playing for 12 years, means my accoustic guitar is quite expensive :)!

E: and ofc it depens on how you would like to use the guitar...only for freetime? or also for giving concerts, "serious business"? =)

I use mine especially for concerts and entertainment :)
ive played from like my 6th till i was 8. and now again for like 2 years or so.
