Hello peeps,
I don't know if you've noticed, but ET is getting rather boring. I played this game for years and the so called 'fun' is now defined as 'the regular drill'. I'm not saying ET is in the need of something new (well, maybe it is), but it lacks of community-sense.
A lot of games have an official website and community forums. I can't say that of ET. Probably because the game is already 8(?) years old and that time the didn't need forums. After a regular google-search I determined there are loads of website for ET, but those are moreover resource-databases with a little forum.
Well, how about this forum?
To be honest, I think this forum lacks of categories. Plus, it's the forum for Splash Damage, a collection of different games. I wouldn't determine it as an 'official website' for a game. More of a community for help and feedback.
My worries are, that there's gonna be a huge separation between players/sites/clans in ET that people are not aware of their online-environment anymore. I've been active in different communities of other games, which showed me a better collaboration between players and clans. Players were more likely to keep playing the game, because of a more communicative structure.
I'm not saying we should make a new official website (well, we could, but that might not work), but assign an existing one (a resource-database, for example), expand the forum (categories for design, help, clans, off-topic, servers, etc) and promote it all-over the entire ET communities.
I know this will probably draw regulars and members from the different communities, even Splash Damage. But if the administrators of the most well-known ET-dedicated website collaborate and maybe merge, it might end up in a very promising result.
Now, we wouldn't want to let this lovely oldskool game die, would we? So share your ideas and thoughts so we might prevent it from happening.
Thanks in advance,

That is your opinion, do not state it like a fact.

Hi.
http://www.enemy-territory.com is / was the biggest ET community catering mainly for the "public player" side of things.
And this site is the main ET community for competitive ET players.
I'm not sure what needs to be done that isn't being, or hasn't already been, done ?
been like since the day Feuersturm created ET. 2.55/2.60, etpro/jaymod/other mods. nothing do be done about it
