Hi guys,
I have a HP laptop with win 7 home 32 bit. Now, via my university, I can download win 7 professional both 32 bit and 64 bit. Is it hard to delete the current win 7 and replace it with the new one? Because my laptop is much slower than it was before and if I am going to reinstall it anyway I prefer win 7 professional. Or aren't there any much advantages compared to the home edition ?
When I want to install win 7 professional:
- Can I just open the file I will download and follow steps ?
- Will that automaticly delete all the files currently on my hdd ?
- Will I keep files such as HP recovery ?
- Do I have to download new drivers?
Thanks for your help :)

mounting works because you dont have to boot from CD in order to install win7 (as it sued to be with XP) but simply install it from an already running OS.
it will move your old OS (and all of its files) to a folder called windows.old.
so you dont have to format and loose all data any more.
as you will use a fresh OS ofc you will have to reinstall drivers.
but there is no real need to change from home to pro.
