They are trying to improve games on mac but are still 5 years behind playing on linux/windows. I have tried to play several games on this mac and the graphics are so bad and the fps rate is unbelievably low.
you can find the latest mac binary @ splatterladderforum and etpro? its the same as the "windows-version" it just goes into the application support folder.
- download the mac application
- go to the splatterladder forum, download the latest binary (2.60d)
- put etpro into the application support folder
- download USBOverdrive to get rid of the mac osx accelaration
- ???
- play
Run ET so it creates its folder in ~/Library/Wolfenstein Enemy Territory/ (I believe that's the path) and unzip the ETPro folder there, like you would to your C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ folder in Windows.
There's no SLAC for OS X, so you wont be able to join servers where it's forced. If you're just playing on non-ETPro pubs, then grab the .6d patch, as you'll get better FPS (the .6d patch made it Intel-native for OS X).
On another note, hows the kid ? :)
googled it, took me ~10 seconds
- go to the splatterladder forum, download the latest binary (2.60d)
- put etpro into the application support folder
- download USBOverdrive to get rid of the mac osx accelaration
- ???
- play
But, as kreatiir said below, the best way to run it is in Bootcamp (for better FPS, as well as SLAC).
it gives you +50 fps (i'm not kidding)
ET 2.6b patch for Mac: http://returntocastlewolfenstein.filefront.com/file/Wolfenstein_Enemy_Territory_260b_Patch_mac;62009
