Both free, lightweight (much more than KIS or NIS or any other suite) and pretty reliable. No false positives, plenty of nice features in CIS.
Used KIS before that for ages too.. but the newer it gets the more buggy and slower it gets.. they released 2011 when 2010 still had tons of bugs.. and 2010 already slowed down the system like hell (especially on SSD´s)
Found CIS Free is a very great alternative to KIS.. and instead of the kaspersky AV i use MSE which is more lightweight, as realiable as KAV and has less false positives.
Tho i have to say that CIS is a bit more complicated to setup but therefor u have way more options and possibilitys.
MSE is very nice :P But sometimes it hangs(?) when you download big file (like 2GB) and MSE scans it - dunno how other AV would react, but I don't mind waiting. And yes - less false positives (eg SLAC) ;D
Hmm ye i sometimes have that too.. but its propably a half second and also i should add that my harddisk where i save all downloads is kinda damaged/slow :P
