NASL - North American Star League

Hello Crossies,

for all you StarCraft II fans here, who are not aware about the new North American Star League yet.

400.000$ are on the line for the 3 seasons in 2011. Finally a real alternative to GSL (500.000$ prizepool), and the biggest prizemoney for a Starcraft League outside of Korea ever.

With Major League Gaming also announcing to rise their prizepools for Starcraft2 and TSL Season 3 (30.000$) to come (+all the almost daily Cups and LANs with smaller prizepools), playing outside of Korea has become a real alternative for the non-korean pro-players. IdrA already announced he is moving back to the US.

So here are the details about the new NASL:

# Who's in it?

50 of the world's best players will be featured weekly. Make sure to
vote for your favorite player to increase their chances of being chosen
for the league!

# What's at stake?

The players will be fighting for a $100,000 prize in the first season.

# How can I watch?

There will be a free stream and a paid stream in HD; matches will be
broadcast live five nights per week, and re-broadcast in the mornings
for our European audience.

# What's included in the paid stream?

You get access to the VODS, an HD stream, and full access to all NASL
replays. There will also be premium packages that will grant entry into a
raffle to win an all expenses paid trip to the Grand Final along with
autographed memorabilia from your favorite NASL player.

# What's the format?

50 players will compete in an online group stage in which 15 players
will advance to the Grand Finals, which will be a 16 man LAN event.

# What about the 16th spot?

There will be an Open Tournament where the winner will be awarded a spot at the Grand Finals.

# Where can I watch in person?

The Grand Final will be held in Los Angeles, California the first
weekend of July. Full details will be announced at the start of the
league.

# Who's casting?

Our primary casters will be Geoff "iNcontroL" Robinson and Andre
"Gretorp" Hengchua. Expect guest appearances and casts from other
world-renowned and esteemed casters along the way.

# How do I apply to be in the NASL?

You must be on a team, must be available to travel to the main event,
must be able to play on the NA server. If you meet these requirements,
please make a video of yourself answering the 5 pre-season questions,
upload the video to youtube and mail the link to [email protected] (Also
include: Name, ID, Team, and Race).
