plyometric pushups are nice, military pushups, diamond pushups are also very good just make sure you focus on the form rather than reps.
Just widen your pushup stance or shorten it to give width etc etc...
My body is use to that now =/

if you want chest improvement do slide pushups, or just normal pushups with a wider grip for chest emphasis as tekn0 said

chest improvement through doing pushups only is all bollocks. You need the sheer weight on you from a bench or heavy dumbells to build your chest.

doing constant pressups just tones the musle you already have to define your chest, however it wont build it. So if you dont have chest muscles you wont get a big chest you just tone it.

I Can do 50 pushups in a row and it doesnt help my chest nearly as much as bench pressing and benching with dumbells. Thats what makes you strong and builds a chest.

Wanna get big heavy pecs, you need pyramide style 2 ways around.

go from start 70x10 80x10 90x8 100x6 and then the way back again.And do more various chest workouts.

You can achieve the same with pushups.In start do normal push ups with no weight.Add for second round some weight ( vest or books in your backbag ) just be original.
Wide grip pushups most effective for chest.Incline pushups helps to shock more upper part of the chest.the same wide grip hands to floor and legs above something.

And workout so that you get soar muscles next day, meaning they are growing.No Pain no Gain!
