Mouseskate Exchange, when?

hey thare!
i'm using a logitech g500. actually a good mouse since the mx518.
im using it with a puretrak talent mousepad and hyperglide skatez.
my question now is, how often do you change the skates?
when they are totally worn off or every 6 months or when?
luckily i've one more set of the hyperglides. i've checked the invoice/bill
of the company where i got them from. it's dated march 2010.
that means i've been using them since an year now. time to exchange??

why? hyperglides are very decent, also you're using a clothpad.
