Hippies are present indeed but think about the fact that you could chill with friends amongst numerous people on the camping site with music in the background! I can recommend that feeling
Trust me, a festival camping is way different than go camping! But yeah Werchter is quite expensive indeed but there are numerous festivals, which aren't expensive at all!
many people -> good atmosphere
noise -> again, cheering, singing along, screaming -> good atmosphere
sound is terrible -> I don't agree, especially on werchter the sound is pretty damn good for an outdoors festival
hippies -> the diversity of ppl at a festival is just awesome
went a couple of times, NEVER MET BOSS THERE THOUGH (he be lying)
not going this year though, there arent that many bands that I want to see, only ones I can think of out of the top of my head or QOTSA and linkin park
small/medium venues > big venues > listening at home > festivals
i just think it's not worth the outrageous ticket-price
I just won't ever go there again!
For some bands (who are shit live), its better to listen to their CDs at home, but seriously, live is so much better imo

Queens of the stoneage are amazing, but the overall LU is quite dissapointing imo
