headsets

My headset is on its way out i guess and require a new one soon!

ATM i have a cheapish Plantronics gaming headset.

Would like something a little better for a new one.

My budget is up to £50. As i really cannot justify spending more for nerding around in my spare time.

I see that the creative fatal1ty range is cheap now, are they any good or not?

Any suggestions would be great!

STEELSERIES SIBERIA V2
headphones
SteelSeries Siberia is perfect!
v2 ?

fatal1ty headset is a toy
don't buy it
most durable headset i ever had.. roughly 4 years old and still working fine even though i took it on every trip. but u are right. when it comes to the sound.. its good but not outstanding

buy the cheapest thing you can find and you can play longer with it
senheiser pc151
I hope you guys will understand soon that headset means shit, seriously. A lot of people accused me of using wallhack, even hungarians. BoRi kept saying I am wallhacking, tho I knew he was serious in a strange way and other way he wasn't. I never had neither special headsets nor soundcard. Any ~10€ headset will do the job as good as the "special" ones.
All you need is experience, and I am not joking, an experienced player "uses" the sounds better.
Experience what ET and other games are.
stfu you all hack you all love hacking

:D u mad lately

What? I don't understand what you just said.*

If it's strictly for playing then sure, but I when I'm listening to music I want the quality to be atleast decent.
Parent
Oh well, then get some studio headset. Not a "gaming" brand stuff.
Hf with ur new headi :)
Parent
thats bullshit, i mean u can surely play decent with a shit headset, but if u compare a good headset to a bad one, the difference is really big :)

even if i compare my new headset ( siberia v2 ) to my old one ( razer barracuda ) i must admit that my old one was better by far, i heard the opponents better and ealier.

old headset = pre slac / new headset = after slac .. right ? :) <3

:D! yes :(((((((((((((((((((((((((

U GOT ME

I have a good studio headset now, tho I played very little ET since I got this, but I didn't notice anything. I had decent 20€ headsets and very bad 5€ headsets, there is no difference. And I am sure this studio headset is able to stand in gap with "gaming" headsets, and yet no difference. Only in music ofc.

dude its also about comfort, ET is an old game which means the sound wont be improved alot by buying an awesome headset, but u can also watch movies etc, et is not everything

siberia 1 is comfy enough to wear for hours cause it doesn't press down on your ears and the sound quality is good enough although it does tend to lose mid range sounds under heavy bass but thats more of a music problem. haven't tried siberia 2 cause these still haven't died, but i imagine its probably quite similar?

had a few cheaper sennheiser sets before they did the job ok but the cups pushed down on my ogre ears so i was sad after say two wars of flap crushing misery
steelseries 4h, got cheap
random ~25€ headset is fine
get a cheap mic and buy an uber pro dj headset :D
Just got mine yesterday :-)
I've got Creative Fatal1ty HS-1000 USB Gaming, and have to tell You, it's really good.
Comfort - wise my siberia headset is better than any headset i had before.
its not the best soundwise though, but i think its OK overall.

if i needed a headset now, i would give sennheiser a try anyway...
Fatality headset sucks mate. You can literally only wear it for 30 minutes without your ears burning up and you always find yourself shouting since you can't hear anything else. SENNHEISER is a safe bet.

+ regular headphones
Aslong as it has some cool blue LEDs and glows in the dark, you're safe. A nice name would benefit your gaming experience as well, like Piranha, Baracuda or Siberia!

Alright, don't buy any gaming branded product. I'm not saying they are necessarily bad products but the price/quality ratio is awful in most cases.

Get a cheap desk microphone (or your old headset around your neck) and buy regular quality headphones from companies that actually know their business like Sennheiser, AKG, Beyerdynamic etc.
yeah thinking that tbh, wouldnt really like a mic round my neck for too long though! but thanks for the advice!
