Keyboards - which one to buy

My keyboard just stopped working, so I am in need of new one. So what you recommend, anti-ghosting is a must.

Price range: preferably under 50euros but you can suggest expensive ones as well.

I am thinking to buy razer arctosa or microsoft sidewinder, have any experience with them?

Looks pretty dull. You ave any experience with it, how do you minimize game with no windows key? It has gaming mode?

download lightnings minimizer, works with every game i play :) (ET, COD, CS etc)

A fine example of looks not being everything ;D! Its a mechanical keyboard, which means the buttons have to travel an a lot smaller distance to register a press, than normal keyboards (can tap out faster = less fulls xD for example!). I've been using it for a few months and I can tell you that it feels aaaaaaawesome! Sure, it doesn't have fancy led lights or look like it has been built by aliens, but how much of the time are you staring at your keyboard while playing anyways :p?

For ET I have a minimizer, ctrl-m is easily reachable, as is right windows + D tbh.

Only negative part for me was that it is a load higher than my last one, needed some getting used to.

Seems out of my budget and range. Thanks anyways.;)

about arctosa....go for silver on black, coz u wont see anything if u buy black on black (+ no backlit). but, there r alot of options than arctosa.
best and most affordable non-mechanical keyboard imo is Microsoft Sidewinder X4, it costs like 35 euro. If you're willing to spend more money, get a mechanical keyboard. But you're gonna have to spend 100+ euro for most mechanical keyboards. You could check out Razer Blackwiddow which is a mechanical keyboard that costs around 80 euro.
Yep, I thought to buy sidewinder X4 just because it is cheap and ok. Cheapness is big plus because I have to save money for new comp. You have any experience with sidewinder? Pros/cons?

yeah I'm using it myself, I like it a lot :p
the alt is positioned a bit differently than other keyboards so that took a bit of time for me to get used to but other than that it's perfect. It has has semi-slim keys which I much prefer over the regular ones like steelseries 6/7g has. Plus it has mediakeys and all that stuff which is an added bonus.

sweclockers which is a respectable hardware site in sweden reviewed a few non-mechanical "gaming" keyboards, arctosa, lycosa, arvo and sidewinder. Sidewinder was the only one that could do the lazy dog test (type The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.) with both shift keys pressed. all keys also register while you press W+D W+A A+S or S+D. Compared to most cheap non-mechanical keyboards that have anti-ghosting on the wasd cluster only, sidewinder has "full" anti-ghosting.

Nice to know. Made me even confident. Any good sites where gaming peripherals is discussed?
Parent
hmm, no idea actually :p

you should check out the journal I did when I was looking for a new keyboard, learned a lot from it. Some good information from Shuki, h8m3 & co there

Hello to 2014 and impossible to find that keyboard anywhere in europe :D
Parent
You made me look down at my keyboard thinking "Man, I need to stop smashing it when I rage at FIFA", still using X4 right now :D
Parent
Hah yeh, i might get lucky and actually get one in my hands, hopefully i wont need to be searching for something else, cus its serious pain in the ass.

My keyboard just disconnected and I used your journal to copy stuff from for my chatwindows. Thank you.

I am using a G110, I don't remember the price but I like it :) And the disconnection was just a one time thing (hopefully) :D
