et performance with slac

did a small update today, those who had fps issues, please check if it's better

forgot to mention this before, but slac also has client-side protection against "wwwdl" bug lamers, i.e. if they do it, they'll get kicked from the server, but you won't if you use slac regardless whether the gameserver has lua script to protect against it or it's running without it

I like the punishment for bug abusing :DD
never had lag . the fuck people are whining about?
The lag they're getting. It's not like they're going to complain about your lag, is it?

is there any reason SLAC ignores the proxy settings i have defined in Windows? i can't even get updates/login as all http port traffic has to go via proxy and the attempts time out (nonstandard ports do not run through the proxy, i can play et perfectly fine)

i am just curious as to why this is, HoN does exactly the same and it is quite frustrating and makes no sense

i have tried using SocksCap to force use of my proxy but instead of timing out I get the "(7) Failed retrieving info..." error instantly. is it not possible to provide options for SOCKS proxies?
Would be nice. In fact it would be great if all applications supported socks as standard, especially games.

e: or there was a proxy protocol that easily supported games.

games are fine for me (as they use nonstandard ports)

all http traffic however is required to go through the proxy and that's where the problems with SLAC/HoN logins are...
Parent
the settings you're referring to are most likely internet explorer settings and not some global windows settings.. those settings don't apply to many programs, in fact only those using some predefined and/or IE-related functions to do the http/ftp/etc stuff.. slac uses libcurl, not IE interface
Parent
ah my bad

but is there any possible fix for this or should i continue ignoring people who complain about my non use of slac
Parent
SLAC does not login through HTTP, it uses port 27960.. i will write a tutorial on how to manually update SLAC, so it will work for you even if the updater says it failed getting info
Parent
mmm weird. i'll look into it again when i return home in May
