Not showing popups

Im trying to record a fragmoviescene but ET is not showing popup (on the left, not the centered "You killed XXX" message

im using
b_numpopups 7
b_popuptime 1000
b_popupfadetime 2500
b_popupstaytime 2000

tried these settings with img_demofilter 0 and1 (image-et 0.8.4)

apparently, it had something to do with the hudoffset
