As I was quite bored I started to read about some religions and other crazy stuff on wikipedia (stuff that people can believe in is just SILLY). I came across something called pentecostalism and this picture.

There are tons of things we could not explain before and can explain now, simply because of science and technological progress.

Religion is for people that can't think straight or refuse to question anything. There are soooo many stupid things in the bible or in any religion as a matter of fact that any sane normal person would laugh at because it's so fucking stupid to believe in, but religious people just tend to ignore those and not question the story they are told. Ever notice how religions are about things that simply can not be proven? But still have so many things in them that are simply too ridiculous to believe, but people swallow it anyway? And all because of what. Fear? Some (false) promises? Going to heaven after you die? Or getting 72 virgins? How fucking low is that anyway, to promise pussy to those who are faithful.
And you just have to take it all in under the flag of "that's why it's called faith".
Nah mate, religion is for ignorant and stupid (because that's what initiated this discussion in the first place) people that don't question anything and keep themselves safely with their blindfolds on and grab on to the brainwash they grew up with.
Bible, and any other holy book is much smarter than physics or math books, mostly because they got a lot of wise advices... the question is: are u smart enough to use it?

The bible is clear about the fact that adam (who was the first man) lived 6000 years ago. The bible is also clear that on the sixth day, god created man. Hence the earth is about 6000 years old. And of course the religious response would be that god's days are metaphores and are not the same length as our current days. Again, something that is based on just believing it to be true instead of being able to proof that it's true.
... What a great argument. I'm just stumped for words to even respond to this.
It doesn't take a genius to realise that heaven and hell, and in fact religion as a whole, is just a bluff. A bluff to scare people and submit them to the will of the idiots that invented the story in the first place.
I'm not gonna respond any further to this pointless discussion. If you believe the bullshit and weird shit, be my guest. I for one don't believe in virgin-births, people being 300 years old, some fucker living inside a fish for days and another idiot supposedly taking two of all animals on board a boat. I guess he forgot the fucking dinosaurs though and made some ingenius climate system to keep the pengiuns cold enough and the lizards warm enough on the same fucking boat.

Me, I have an opinion and that's all there is to it. Never will I tell someone who believes in a deity to not do that anymore. But I do think (s)he is stupid to do so.
