Home server OS

Going to pick up a new PSU in a couple of days so I can build a modest home server with some spare computer parts. It's going to be used for backups, fileserver, webserver,... you name it. All I need now is a nice OS to run.

Some options I've been thinking about:
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Home Server
  • Linux distro: ubuntu, fedora..?
  • FreeNAS

So which of these would suit me best :G?

ubuntu server imo since its free, has lots of support and should support everything you want to do

also freenas might be too limiting no??
haha, you're a fucking nerd :DDDD

Still makes me laugh when u told someone to do something useful with his life when he was planning on taking a bike trip lol

and here u are asking shit like this :DDDDDDDDD
Yes, this is a gaming community. How silly of me to ask something computer related.

You're obviously Barack Obama, David Beckham, Nelson Mandela and Albert Einstein at the same time but merged into one person. Not to mention your impeccable taste of music

dumbass

Debian or ubuntu
ESXI run all of them.
Don't really need anything like that, since I'm planning to only run one OS.
