widescreen monitor

i want to buy a widescreen monitor,but i m not sure if ET will run same as it did on 4:3.

i know the settings i have to make,i m wondering if is there any better to play on 16:9

monitor,or i should stick to 4:3?

u can still use same resolution and everything for ET, u just have black stripes left and right

what i mean is that on 17 inches i can t see the heads anymore,probably i have an eye problem,so i want bigger screen.i found this 19inch,problem is there are ll widescreen.question is can i have full screen et on widescreen without any bugs on it?

yes, sure u can have fullscreen, works without problems
just check max resolution of the monitor. for example 1680x1050
then do what roki said above

1600:900 is the resolution that monitor i want to buy supports.is this possible in et?is it better than 1024*768 which i have now?

Might only give performance issues on higher resolution unless you have a somewhat recent PC.

Should work. With my old computer (better CPU, worse RAM+GFX) I felt hiccups which didn't make the game unplayable but were annoying nonetheless at higher resolutions. That's just my personal experience though.

i wasnt sure about widescreen either but believe me its awesome, might take some off your fps on modern games (not et) playing at hd res but its naice. ET stretches a little cause its not made for that res but you can either turn it to normal or play with it (i dont find its a problem) and like i said all modern games support widescreen so..

but also widescreen is just great for doing stuff like designing, coding etc - 2 screens isn't necessary anymore

but choose your screen wisely you must decide you're budget
1. TN: What 99.9% of people here use, the defacto standard: very good response and awful colour/clarity/ etc etc
2. VA: much better colour, clarity, viewing angles, best contrast ratio, but a knock to response rate (what i have, response rate is fine imo)
3. IPS: you will only get this if you are a rich&pro nigga - best picture quality etc and great response rate

Many, many monitors have not been correctly colour calibrated either, so get one that is factory-good or the only way is with expensive equipment (although 99.9% of the tards here play happily with badly calibrated monitors and they would never know)

the model i put my eyes on it is lg 2041.u think is good?

i want it bigger cause i can t see good anymore on 17 inches that i have now.

i m not interested about new games,cause my pc can t support anyway.i have fast internet 100mb/s,if this matters.recomendations?will my et run better,meaning,i will be able to shoot more accurate,will the heads of enemies be more clear?

it is just a standard TN monitor, its up to you really - what is your budget? you can get a VA or IPS monitor for £200 but if you are spending less and going for a TN i am sure its reasonable but if you have enough money go for something like the Dell UltraSharp U2311H.
