War thingies etc

Today is the National Day Of The Veterans here in Finland Finland, and that got me thinking.

At first I was about to make a journal about the breakup with Finland and Germany Yermans and how we miss them :(

But then I thought about the veterans, not by that "mää puolustan isän maata" -mentality, but in general.

How many has had grandparents fighting or some close relatives? Not sure how it goes in middle-europe in general, in Finland that is the case for nearly everyone.

I met many veterans in my work last winter and they had some cool stories to share. Not all of them were willing to tell anything though.

grandparents didnt fight in war, their parents did tho,
grammy told some stories about when they had to leave FinlandKuusamo, walked with cows and stuff all the way to FinlandOulu.

Other grandmothers dad lost hes ear at war and was deaf for rest of hes life :<
